The plain-English rules for using Farm Stays UK. The most important one: we are a guide, and you book your farm stay with Feather Down Farms, not with us.

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use farmstaysuk.com ("Farm Stays UK", "we", "us"), a website of Jolly Hols Limited. By using the site you accept them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. Our privacy and cookies policy explains how we handle information.

2. What Farm Stays UK is

Farm Stays UK is an independent information and comparison website about farm stays in the UK. We describe and compare farms, lodges and the areas around them, and link to the businesses that take bookings.

We are not a travel agent or tour operator. We don't sell holidays, take bookings or take payments. When you click Check dates, you go to Feather Down Farms, and any booking you make is a contract between you and Feather Down Farms under their terms and conditions. Questions about availability, payments, changes, cancellations, refunds or your stay itself are for Feather Down Farms.

3. Prices, availability and other information

  • Prices. "Stays from" prices come from Feather Down Farms' data feed, which we update every day. They are the lowest price in that feed for a sample stay, and the price for your dates and length of stay will usually be different. The price shown on Feather Down Farms before you book is the one that counts.
  • Lodges, facilities and animals. These come from Feather Down Farms' feed and the farms' own pages. Farms can change what they offer, and animals and activities such as lambing depend on the season.
  • Drive times and distances are estimates from our route planner using OpenStreetMap roads, without traffic. "About X away" times between areas are rougher still.
  • Places nearby (beaches, stations, attractions) come from OpenStreetMap and our own research. Check opening times and prices with the place before you go.
  • Guides and articles are our own general information and opinion. They are not professional, safety or medical advice.

We work hard to keep everything accurate and up to date, but we can't guarantee it is complete, current or free of errors. Please check anything important with Feather Down Farms or the place concerned before you rely on it. If you spot a mistake, tell us at [email protected].

4. Affiliate links

Many links to Feather Down Farms are affiliate links through the Awin network. If you book after clicking one, Feather Down Farms pays us a commission. You pay the same price as booking direct. Commission never decides which farms we list or how we describe them, and no farm pays to be featured.

5. Using the site

You may use the site for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please don't:

  • copy, scrape or republish our content or data in bulk, or use automated tools in a way that slows down or harms the site;
  • try to get into parts of the site or server you're not meant to, or interfere with its security;
  • use the site for anything unlawful, or to send spam or harmful material.

6. Our content

The text, design, comparison data, tools and logo on Farm Stays UK belong to Jolly Hols Limited or are used with permission. Farm photos belong to Feather Down Farms and are shown as part of our affiliate arrangement. You can share links to our pages and quote short extracts with a link back, but please ask before copying anything else.

7. Links to other websites

We link to other websites, including Feather Down Farms, Awin, the National Trust and the attractions we mention. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, availability or policies.

8. Our responsibility to you

We provide Farm Stays UK free of charge and "as is". As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site, from relying on its information, from the site being unavailable, or from any booking, stay or dealing you have with Feather Down Farms or anyone else we link to.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

9. Changes

We may update these terms, the site and what we cover from time to time. The version on this page, with the date at the top, is the one that applies.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
